I loved the book and loved The Martian so my expectations were very high and this beaut of a film really exceeded them. Beautifully done. Plus, god bless puppetry.

There are so many unbelievable fits in this film it’s worth watching for them alone. That aside, obviously it’s just great fun. Incredible performance from Glenn Close and watching it for the first time in a while with much more empathetic eyes, she seems more intensely vulnerable than I’d remembered. The joy of removing misogyny goggles!

Where has this film been all of my life?! I loved the book but actually didn’t know about the film until recently. Beautifully shot, brilliant performances and has that signature Ephron warmth. Only negative was a Kevin Spacey jumpscare

Naming your cat after Wash seems incredibly ill-advised on a rewatch.
