A topic of interest that has always entranced me is memory, or rather how the mind warps things you’ve gone through as the years go by. How your view of a past friendship becomes less and less as you drift from them, or how distinct moments from your childhood stick in ways that didn’t occur originally. This movie is almost a perfect commentary on this— how the more you remember, the less you do.
I’m not saying this is a perfect film, because it’s not. I had to dwell on it for a while after watching it opening day, but ironically enough, it becomes more potent for me the more I think about it.
