Ironheart
Actually quite good. This show does not deserve that much hate.
Im surprised this show actually exists, I thought this would get binned alongside Blade and Armour Wars. This is the type of show that would come out in phase 4.
You see, I never gave a shit about Riri in Black Panther 2, she was fine, but nothing special. This show made me care, gave her personality. Thats what these shows should be used for, to build characters, not to introduce new ones.
The problem I had with Captain Marvel is that she doesn't really save people, she's mean for no reason and doesn't feel like a person. The reason that Riri works so well is that she's not a hero and she owns it, she learns to become one, Captain Marvel doesn't.
The crew that Riri works with to make money, other than Natalie if she counts, are very boring. Couldn't tell you one of their names.
I like the Hood as the antagonist, he works well. His descent into madness does feel a little bit abrupt and sudden, but for the most part, he's fine.
I really liked Joe, until he got arrested. Kinda ruined his character in my opinion. Just turned him into a bootleg Electro.
The practical suit looks cool, the action kinda sucks though. Felt really choppy and rushed. The 'final battle' was so cliché.
They handled Mephisto perfectly. Perfect amount of screentime and the perfect actor. I really like that he's only in 1 episode, and I really like that he manipulated Riri into joining him, like the slimy, conniving devil that he is. You'd think that for someone as smart as she is, that Riri would see through his mindgames, but as he's litterly a genius demon from another world, I'll let it pass.
Since pretty much every Marvel show takes place in New York, it pisses me off that Kingpin doesn't ever get mentioned. For something as large as Kingpin being elected Mayor of New York, you'd think they'd take it more seriously. If they weren't going to commit, why bother in the first place.
I was one of the ones at first that didn't want to watch this, but I'm glad I did. This deserves more praise. Its not groundbreaking or flawless, but its enjoyable. Its exactly what the Disney+ shows should be. If you haven't seen it, which 85+% of Marvel fans haven't, I'd give it a shot, you'll be surprised.
