this was honestly very fun, amazing soundtrack

I cried for a rock, no sorry I bawled my eyes out. Grace wouldn't sacrifice his life for all of Earth, but for Rocky he didn't hesitate once, and neither did Rocky offering him fuel, he gave Grace someone to be brave for. That's the bond that undid me, no strings, just showing up for each other. Math is the how, love's the why, it's the reason we bother starting at one at all. Kept reminding me of Orpheus and Eurydice, a myth I love, except here turning around saves someone instead of losing them. Sometimes loving someone means turning around. I adored this movie so much. 👎🏼

Orpheus and Eurydice has always had a soft corner of my heart, I feel this story so deeply, every time. This one sets it in Rio's Carnival, all samba and color, that same old ache moving underneath the joy. Some people take issue with this version, say it strays too far. But this myth was never meant to stay still it keeps coming back, in new voices, new places, because being human means we keep falling for the same flaw. Orpheus looks back every time. Not because the story's stuck, but because that's what it means to be human. And like Hermes tells us at the close of Hadestown, that's exactly why we keep singing it, not because we don't know how it ends, but because we sing it anyway, hoping this time it ends differently. I loved this one so much.
