Dune

I genuinely have no words that come close to describing how much I loved this. I’m completely stunned- the music, the acting, the vfx, the cinematography! all of it was just sooo good, this is exactly what I’ve been wanting for so long, ever since I first finished the original Star Wars trilogy and then the prequels. I love Star Wars so much and it will always be special to me, but something Jack Manifold (who’s a massive Star wars fan) said on the Shut Up I’m Talking podcast (patreon’s only $7 btw!) was that everything he loved about Star Wars, Dune had done first- and when I first heard him say that I was sure he couldn’t be right, surely he was just exaggerating but no. Genuinely all of the things I love about Star Wars were don’t first by Frank Herbert in Dune, and to what I must say is a much higher level of quality (I mean no disrespect by this please don’t kill me george Lucas fans). I immediately know NEED to watch Part Two, Dune: Prophecy, read all the books, watch the original 1986 film, wishlist Dune: Awakening on steam and go find an old Dune game to play. I love this franchise, it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for with the abysmal state Star Wars has been in for years now and I’m so excited to experience the rest of what this universe has to offer.
