Skyfall

a genuinely amazing step up from quantum of solace. sam mendes did an excellent job telling a genuinely engaging bond story with real stakes that beautifully expands bond as a character through the exploration of his childhood and the trauma that came with it. the cinematography was brilliant and enjoyabley experimental at times, especially in the opening shot (which I loved). the narrative feels like a true epic saga in the life of bond, and fully earns it's over two hour runtime. overall, a genuinely engaging bond story that is miles above quantum of solace and seriously expands bond as a character through the exploration of his past. all the actors are on the a game here, with javier bardem and ben wishaw being real standouts (not to discredit daniel craig and judi dench at all) and I can't wait to see spectre with how they evolved the franchise with this films ending.
