that was… beautiful? i am awestruck by the cinematography and the acting — what the actual fuck? how was this movie just a couple of really long one shots sewn together seamlessly that i didn’t even notice it up until i watched the behind-the-scenes and video essays about this film. this was just wonderful. the effort put into this film and how it depicted the first world war is bonkers (positive). i was so entranced and into it that i felt like i was there with them in war like literally. love everything, and aside the phenomenal camera work, i am seeing that there is not much praise given to the actors! i get it though… the shooting and the choreography’s the core and image of this movie which upholds its integrity, of course. but george mackay’s acting? carried this whole thing and the whole extraordinary cast. 10s across the board.
