The Fly

Totally great. A really awesome movie. Great practical effects and score. It’s a bit ubiquitous pop-culture wise but I still didn’t know what to expect, a bit like Clockwork Orange. It totally picks up and is awesome. It’s totally Cronenberg and totally awesome. Great performances by all three of those people. I like the shift in point of view character, and how the boss becomes a more chill guy in the face of this larger threat. Great, great practical effects. And Jeff Goldblum’s acting totally sells it as a living thing. The movie hints at all the crazy horrible direction things could go in while continuing on in one singular crazy horrible direction. Even in the beginning when he’s just a super strong guy the music lets you know shit ain’t right. The sugar in the coffee. Ugh! As it went on I expected to be grossed out, but that didn’t stop me from being surprised and grossed out! One of the few movies to really make me feel sick to my stomach consistently as it went on. Totally full of twists and turns. Makes me want to watch the second one which can’t be as good. Cautionary tale don’t be a jealous boyf. The outdoors look so pretty. Looking at special features… monkey-cat… much to think about. One word: Cheeseburger.
