Black Swan
I was looking forward to see this film after perfect blue and I really don’t understand why many say it’s a rip off. Sure there are certain similar elements but I saw it as more of it being inspired by perfect blue. I don’t think they exactly copy pasted the movie. In this film we clearly know what’s going, it’s not as confusing or strategic in the plot as perfect blue. I was very emotional during this because I was really rooting that she would get past what was eating at her and for her to realize that perfection doesn’t exist. I wanted her to know that she was a good dancer and didn’t need to torture herself. But from experience it’s easier to give advice than taking it. She killed herself for perfection because that mattered to her the most. The people in her life weren’t much help at all, they only enabled that behavior at best. So, she just succumbed. I can say that is very universal to what is like being a woman.
