Oh the potential for this was there, that makes me the most disappointed. Lucy talked abt how she couldn't live without a lot of money, but it wasn't rlly *shown. *You can tell me who u think u are until you're blue in the face but I'm not rlly believing it until I see your action. I think you can do a movie with heavy dialogue real well... you just can't do it with the cast that was picked out. The only movie I've liked Dakota Johnson in is Suspiria and that's because her character is putting on this facade of real humanity. Emotions can be played weird that way. I think it was a role made for her and that's kinda where her acting ability lies. Famous Chris Evans as your poor boy with no prospects??? I mean, I get why he was wanted, but everybody knows him. Everyone knows Chris Evans is going back to his rich man life after each shooting day. Maybe this isn't a problem for everyone, but it was for me. It really watered down the message for me. There were some lines and conversations that really worked for me, things I wish were expanded on in a different, better movie. Sadly I just wasn't sold on the story being told. That's saying something because I am very easily pulled into movie worlds lolll.

Verryyyyy sad. Falling into the pit of religion to find yourself is a slippery slope. Especially in the catholic faith. Exploration is shamed, and you are made to feel guilty for being confused and not just ignorantly putting all your trust in god. It's such a traumatic thing that is engrained into society. I thought about the mom a lot and how she must have felt seeing her daughter become a nun. Anywayyyy I had no clue about vatican 2 so this was very interesting. Knowing a lot of nuns left because of the church sorta relaxing on some of the shame it teaches rlly was woahhhhh okay... some people like having that structure ig. If it's the only thing you've ever known especially. Thought it'd be a lil more lesbian but im not upset abt it at all. Story-wise I think it had a good little sprinkle thrown in. Diana Agron!!??!! Yesssss pleaseeeee i love her. thats it

what an interesting movie that I don't think fully understands its own message or what it's rlly saying. The last conversation had between their souls, where inwoo asks what they'll do if they are both born girls and taehee says they will just have to try again. The pedophilia was a small problem to them, but the gay connotation around their relationship was always the biggest "wrong". Rlly inwoo didn't need any proof at all, one song, one lil hint that hyunbin was taehee and he went full force trying to connect with his underage male student in an inappropriate way. What about loving someone so much to the point of letting go? What about their love made it impossible for inwoo to move on? considering he had a wife and child it's not like he hadn't tried. I think this was more a story of an immature and selfish man who never really grew up. I'm not talking abt the world hardening him either, im talking about he was stuck in his childish ways even before he met taehee. i could actually go on and on abt a lot more bcuz i think it is a movie that demands conversation after. Woulda loved to see what they did with the remake but it's probs for the best it was dropped.

fun movie! I could really feel the martian-ness of it all. Is the martian this millennial though? Can't remember. It's not a bad thing tbh, just after the four-hundredth quip from Grace I was like okayyyyy I get it ur silly. I think it maybe went on a little too long too, too many death fakeouts. I was waiting for it to end multiple times. Though I do love the science fiction behind it all, I love how it is explained, and I want to read the book. I loved The Martian so I'm sure this book is good too. I have mixed feelings about the ending but it was pretty hopeful and sweet, not to mention just so beautiful. 2001 but if it was sillier. Will I ever watch it again? No, I'd probably fall asleep.
