Cool movie

I remember everything

Brilliant. Brutal. Hilarious. People who say this wasn’t a funny game don’t understand satire. But I understand it’s so chilling and haunting. The wink, the questions, the remote. Brilliant writing this means a lot and everyone should watch this at least once. I died at the rewinding scene I loved this too much.

A hidden gem in the gold mine that is Terrence Malicks filmography. Two interwoven stories of a struggle of faith and a struggle of life and love. We see these two stories parallel each other in ways only Malick could think up. His most spiritual and honest film, up there with one of his best that he’s ever made. He showcases in the first 30 minutes an acceptance that a relationship won’t end in marriage. An acceptance that can be related to an understanding that we all die. All of our lives come to an halting end and a new chapter of your life begins the moment you realize and accept that. I think the story of the Spanish pastor struggling with his faith is beautiful and perfectly wraps this movie into an intricate narrative with meaning beyond our surface level understanding. Malick is always outstanding when it comes to putting a picture together, I admire his form of editing and cutting together scenes and internal monologues. Something else that most people notice is his incredible shot selection. Seriously he’s incredible at finding a creative leverage in images that we don’t usually notice. He finds beauty and life and conveys that through his stunning images. For me this is up there as his most visually striking and impressively unique film. I get this movie and I could talk about it forever. Another Terrence Malick masterpiece.
