not one weak line reading in the whole movie

Though seemingly being a traditional 80s film without that usual, inexplicable “elevated” feel of a masterpiece, this film brute forces its way into being easily beloved for its style and charm. Possibly one of the coolest movies ever made, it just aces everything it tries.

Funniest part of the movie is filling the trailer with the least funny moments and deleted scenes

Mark Duplass kind of wasted, but the two lead performances are so excellent I can overlook that. Big atmosphere movie, every scene is framed perfectly to set off the vibe they want to instill in you. I think this movie uses its sparing dialogue perfectly. In a way you can have a movie almost as good by cutting out all the dialogue while losing nothing that draws in the Backrooms internet enjoyers, but the addition of Clark’s arc and Mary’s growth is really what kept me hooked on this.
