Frankenstein
Very enjoyable film. There were definitely a few noticeable changes, like Elizabeth’s role, but I felt this was great. I think one of the only things that bothered me was the absence of Henry. Everything else was just so good! Was intrigued to realise the portrayal of Victor and his creature’s relationship becoming similar to that of him and father’s. Not only this, but the parallels between child and mother. Frankenstein had a much closer relationship with the maternal role in his life, just as the creature had a had something similar with Elizabeth. Also Interesting that his mother and Elizabeth were both played by Mia Goth. I wasn’t actually sure of the nature of the relationship between Elizabeth and the creature in this as I viewed it as a mother and child - but apparently it was more than this. All I know is that they had a much deeper understanding of each other than anyone had of them. I also thought the portrayal of the creature as more ‘innocent’ was interesting. I had to stop watching at some points because I felt bad 😭 There were also some really great shots in the film
