Bicycle Thieves

to the person who told me “don’t worry, De Sica’s movies always have a happy ending”, first “Sciuscià” and the this one! FFS! this movie made me so sad thinking how a family could end up living badly in those years because of what we could today define as, “a simple robbery”. all the sacrifices of a lifetime trying to get a job, gone in minutes. and it’s even more heartbreaking to think that these actors weren’t actually actors, but simple people who i guess related so much to what they showed on screen.
