Dracula
Episode 1: So good. Loved the twists, loved the acting, thought it was a really interesting look at the story. Also, with some pretty solid scares!!
Episode 2: Pretty solid, some pretty good scares, once again loved all the characters and thought the change to the original text was cool... until the ending.
Episode 3: okay who wants to murder Steven Moffat with me bc he ruins *everything.
Why *did you need to make it modern? It was cool as a period piece.
Why was Lucy so vastly unlikeable? It seemed so unbelievable that she was so loved. Sure, it could be just for her beauty, but in this day and age that seems pretty ridiculous.
Who was Jack?? He seemed to be framed as a direct descendant of Jonathan Harker bc of the way they shot it but then nothing came of it???
I’m annoyed they used the Mark Gattiss Macguffin to get out of telling us more about the organisation. What’s its purpose other than the catch Dracula? What do they do?? How can they afford to hire so many people??
And I don’t understand the ending?? Why did they make it seem like there was a weird soulmate thing between Dracula and Van Helsing?????
Also. Like, cute plot point, but Dracula being afraid of death is so dumb! He’s top of the food chain! He’s a predator! A monster! You haven’t framed him as being an emotional man so WHY is he afraid of death! He’s immortal! Why would he be afraid of something perfectly avoidable!!!
Did I miss something?? In the show??? That explains this all?? Am I being stupid???
Basically it was really good until the (almost) end of episode 2.
