Juno
“If I have to wait for you to become Kurt Cobain, I’ll never become a mother” I expected this movie to be wholesome and all michael cera awkward, but I’m so glad it actually ended up shining a bright light on women’s experiences.
Vanessa took great lengths to prepare herself for motherhood, while her pedophile of a husband put on a long sleeve under a rock band t-shirt to woo a teenager—and that pretty much sums up the difference in responsibilities between motherhood and fatherhood.
In a perfect world, society is lenient on teenage pregnancies, and without delusional men going through a midlife crisis, but one can only wish. Kudos to Vanessa for never condemning Juno. The world should be nicer to Junos.
