I don't believe in basic, sometimes a movie's popular because it is indeed good so love what u love bb ♡

It is slow, yes. And no, I didn't really understand it the first time round. But after a re-watch and some thinking, I realize that Aftersun actually uses a similar concept to the Virgin Suicides. Hear me out, in both these films we follow someone who is deeply struggling through the lens of an outsider, someone who isn't yet aware of this. Trying to look back and figure out what they might've missed or what might've gone so terribly wrong. But you'll never really know, you can only assume. It's filmed to be quite realistic too and the performances were great. So even if it isn't quite up my ally with my lack of patience I still think that it's actually a good movie.

This movie will never leave me. It is CRIMINALLY underrated. Genuinely how did this not become one of those universally known modern classics. The camera work don't even get me startedddd. And the colourssss ughhh its so beautiful as its tearing me open I love it. The soundtrack is so perfect not to mention Frank Ocean is part of it. And the second half/perspective shift? Yes. Just yes. I also always love when a movie adds blurred color sequences. The storyline. Alexa demie. Taylor Russel. The whole cast. The acting is phenomenal. Also I do find it to be realistic, dare I say on some levels relatable.
