Alien

now…  such a perfect film in my opinion. the set design of the the Nostromo is one of my favorites among sci-fi ships along with the shuttle ship. Beautiful score that captures the awe in space exploration as well as the ominousness of the great beyond. The Xenomorph is one of my favorite aliens ever! Such a cool concept that takes inspiration from a lot of insects and arachnids.  Beyond it, the dread in this movie is so palpable that the tiniest sounds in the bedroom I watched it in elicited a quick look over from me.  AHHH love it.
