Avengers: Endgame
[ 𝗠𝗜𝗗 • 9/10 ] the opening scene of Clint losing his family sets the tone perfectly - dark, emotional, and intense. I loved how Endgame wasn’t as action-heavy as Infinity War, instead focusing on the mystery, tension, and emotional fallout of the Snap. The plot is brilliant, especially the revisiting of past MCU moments from different perspectives, making the buildup through earlier films feel truly rewarding. Ant-Man’s role in the resolution was a great surprise, and the closure to Iron Man and Captain America’s arc was handled beautifully.
Thanos remains the MCU’s best villain. He evolves from a cold, calculated conqueror to a more vengeful and nihilistic version of himself, blinded by obsession and unable to see the true cost of his actions, leading to his downfall. The film delivers some incredible character growth and heartbreaking endings. I loved Professor Hulk as a symbol of Bruce’s acceptance of both sides of himself, and his mocking of his past self was a great moment. Thor’s journey was also well done. His conversation with Frigga gave him closure, and his bond with Rocket and eventual place with the Guardians was a great fit.
Black Widow and Clint’s fight for the Soul Stone was devastating, but her sacrifice felt meaningful. It’s a powerful conclusion to her arc, from haunted assassin to selfless hero. It’s just a shame her solo film didn’t live up to her ending here. Iron Man’s final moments were perfect. His sacrifice and the iconic line “I am Iron Man” brought his journey full circle, from selfish genius to ultimate protector. His conversation with his father was touching, showing how Tony came to value family and legacy over ego.
And then there’s Steve Rogers. Seeing him silently watch Peggy in the past broke my heart, but the final scene of them dancing together to jazz brought tears to my eyes. A perfect, quiet ending for a character who always put others first. I truly can’t recommend watching the entire MCU build-up enough, it makes this conclusion so much more powerful. Endgame is an incredible film and already one of my all-time favourites. Honestly, they could’ve ended the MCU right here.
