Casino
easily my favourite Scorsese film so far, and a personal favourite movie poster. I love the saturated tone throughout with vibrant neons and golds to showcase the dazzling allure of Los Vegas, accompanied by glamorous set designs and costuming. The dynamic cinematography kept me immersed with sweeping tracking shots, sharp lighting contrasts and meticulous framing. I love the approach they took with the storytelling. Through a blend of voiceover narration, fast-paced montages, and detailed character arcs, the film maintains a gripping pace that makes it difficult to lose interest throughout its three-hour runtime. What an incredible soundtrack too -Dinah Washington, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, Brenda Lee, to name just a few. Mid 9/10.
“What is love anyway? It’s a mutual respect, it’s a devotion, it’s a caring from one person to another.”
