Michael Mann just doesn’t miss. I loved the intimacy of the movie - a small cast, all set over the course of a single night in L.A., which really heightened the tension. Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx both delivered standout performances, and the script was sharp, blending strong character work with subtle existential themes woven into the suspense. The mix of ambient music, jazz, and the original score helped create a brooding, atmospheric vibe that lingered throughout. Mann’s attention to detail is brilliant, elevating the film beyond a typical crime thriller and turning the city itself into a living, breathing character. Low 9/10.  Michael Mann Ranked: (preference)1.
