I had no idea why the characters were doing the things they did. I think conceptually the story is good, the entanglement and harshness of it all but the execution was way off.
It felt at times I was watch a play with missing scenes.
It does a good job of making you pensive - or maybe I was just confused.
Natalie Portman’s American accent was the only believable thing about this film. 3/5
Second watch and I get it. It’s a play. It’s a play where one of its main themes is lies v honest.
It makes more sense when I think about it that way and it is good. Clive’s character is still a hard watch. I think it’s just packaged in a way that I would never full enjoy but I will give it its credit 3 and 1/2
