Wow, this is such a beautiful and poignant depiction of depression, but having it framed through the perspective of a child is annihilating. I can’t imagine a better portrayal of trying on a brave face for the people who need it most, and seeing a lot of my own experiences reflected here made for a really rough watch, but holy shit it was worth it. That 30s scene on the pontoon is everything.
