Sicario
I’m blown away by how tightly constructed this movie is. Every little detail feels so intentional, particularly in how everything is shot, and it feels like the camera work fits the tone perfectly. It’s a relatively subtle score that evokes such strong emotion. Josh Brolin and his accompanying voice have such an unsettling calm composure in such brutal contexts, and Benicio del Toro’s ramping sinister undertone had me feeling just as panicked as Emily Blunt looked the entire time. As far as nitpicks go the portrayal of the “conflict” such as it is felt a little off balance at times but otherwise I can’t fault it for a second
