Moonlight

This Best Picture winner finally watched. A great LGBT film that follows Chiron Harris through his life. He's portrayed by three actors who each do a great job; Alex Hibbert, Ashton Sanders and finally as an adult Trevante Rhodes. The rest of the cast were also brilliant including Mahershala Ali, André Holland, Naomie Harris and Janelle Monáe. The story spanning over the three parts of Chiron's life were split well over the duration of the film, each showcasing emotional moments of his life and his journey of self discovery. You feel pain for him during his young troubled life with his mother and being bullied but then you feel joy later. Most scenes are beautifully shot, my main highlights were when Juan teaches Chiron to swim and Chiron with Kevin on the beach. I honestly feel a little speechless at how good it was and don't know what else to write so I'll just say ha take that La La Land. 🔙 Smash and Grab 🔜 Period. End of Sentence. 📝 Watched in 2019 📝 2016 Ranked
