Eddington
Holy shit, I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I’ve enjoyed other Ari Aster mocies in the past, but this was magnificent.
It was hilarious and expertly satires both the liberals and conservatives, especially surrounding the political climate at the time and the performative actions which a lot of new leftists were using to express themselves.
The pacing was pretty good, slowly building up to an incredible, bombastic, if not somewhat lengthy, climax. Your attention is constantly being directed all over the place with so many moving parts and actors influencing each other, some fake outs, or dead ends - not loose ends, as they are tied up either with hilarity or precision.
Bill Hader and Ali Wong called this a masterpiece, a breath of fresh air, and i completely agree.
