i've never seen a movie create this much tension without relying on loud music or constant action. it just gets under your skin until you realize your heart's been racing for the last hour. i spent the first hour trying to keep up, the second completely consumed, and the last sitting in silence after the credits. what a film. and what a cast !! jake gyllenhaal, mark ruffalo, and rdj never overplay a single moment. they just let the story do the work. each performance felt so lived-in that i completely forgot i was watching actors. and david fincher... man. the restraint, the precision, the confidence to let scenes breathe instead of forcing them… that's what made this unforgettable.
