Boiling Point

DECENT 9. god, i love how this movie looks and feels. yeah, it's COLORED super nicely (accurately capturing what a small-scale, but undoubtedly fancy restaurant looks like) and it’s PACED beautifully — but more impressive is how CANDID everything feels. the SHAKY CAMERA movement to the AUTHENTIC DIALOGUE. considering how artsy this movie is, i was pleasantly SURPRISED that it was in english (as opposed to french). Burning Point is not so much about food, rather its about the people involved in the functioning of a restaurant — the chefs, the waiters, the food inspectors, the customers. i know that this movie is supposed to be stressful (hence the "burnout"), but for some reason, it makes me want to partake in the restaurant business at some point in my life.
