Eighth Grade
i think this is the most accurate and relatable coming of age movie i’ve ever seen. there’s so many little details in this movie that reminded me of my own eighth grade year. like when a kid in the background of one scene yells the lebron james meme, that’s just so accurate to stupid middle school humor that was funny back then.
and i also love the way this movie doesn’t rush scenes. you see entire conversations that just feel so real in a way ive never seen done before. (spoilers here) but especially the scene halfway through the movie in the car was especially heartbreaking because of how real it feels. you really feel the stress she’s under and how uncomfortable she is.
the whole movie was just extremely well done and yeah i liked it a whole lot. knew this was gonna be good going in because of bo burnham directing but he just captured this experience perfectly. so glad i finally watched this.
