So this is the community they're talking about?? This was a heartfelt movie and I love to see african representation. The grief part was surprisingly underexplored, but the characters felt quite real and embodied

Their lives suck but they're still interesting and, damn, maybe it's better to suck in an interesting way than a boring way, but at the end of the day it'll still suck. And when the dissolution compounds without a glimpse of hope it weighs on you till you crack. I knew someone was going to do it at the end. It was so obvious to me I thought it was in the description, but I wish it didn't have to happen. Why didn't anyone pick up the phone :(

too trashy to be a classic; too deep to be a soap opera. The writing is so heavy handed and I can tell exactly what parts are verbatim from the book because the language is so different, but it's so so beautiful. (Also the racism felt slapped on rather than nuances, stop making nick a fully good guy and why is there modern music?)
