i usually rank these in order of my favourites & it's weird to say that this of all movies is the one i like the best given it's a really sad watch & i'll probably not revisit it...but it just had that effect on me & it's the one that sticks out to me the most.
the fact that i had never seen this but saw many shark (or shark adjacent) movies over the years & this one from 1975 was the best one speaks absolute volumes. a genuine classic.
fresh thoughts - incredibly moving film. amazing thrill ride rooted in humanity. potential to go higher on my list with time.
this movie opened my eyes to who spielberg really was as a director, & i don't even really mean the story itself being based on his own childhood, but just the way the movie was made. like, this guy makes MOVIES.
wholesome is an overused word nowadays but it's what it is. i enjoyed watching this one with my family. gertie.
its not my favourite thing in the world but had some fun with it.
found this really long & tedious in big chunks, honestly. may have caught me on a day of little patience.
some impressive, moving performance in a film that feels a little rushed.
