Yi Yi
The movie of a lifetime, quite literally.
Edward Yang manages to tell so many different stories in such an astonishing way, with every relationship in that family being meticulously detailed.
It feels like you’re an omnipotent entity observing the daily lives of these flawed characters, almost as if everything they weren’t able to see themselves was recorded, just like the way Yang-Yang captures people’s backs as they’re unable to perceive them.
I’ll be thinking about this film for a while, and I’m already planning to rewatch it soon!!
