Drive

I thought I was about to see an action movie with a quiet, beautiful protagonist who falls in love with a woman, defeats the bad guys, and marries her. I ended up watching a movie about crime in LA, the love of a mother for her son and how a silent (and very beautiful) stranger comes into her life and in an attempt to help ends up ruining everything, defeating the bad guys but losing the girl. Drive has one of the best photographs in cinema, understanding its characters like few others do and in each frame it demonstrates this, its script is intelligent and the performances are all excellent.
