Goosebumps
This kind of made me think of a Mike Flanagan miniseries (the 2 Haunting's and Fall of House of Usher) and makes me wonder if those series were an inspiration for this?
Did really enjoy this and Justin Long was a big part in why I enjoyed it.
Honestly didn't know what to think for the first few episodes as they felt like they were telling their own story (one about the camera, other about the mask, etc.) and that they were gonna be somewhat loosely connected but that changed after about the fourth. So I feel they could have been done a little better in showing that because it makes the begin a bit slow.
The middle, up to episode 8, were great and had me hooked. But was a bit confused when we got to the end of 8 because it felt like that was a good place to end it, but there was still to episodes? And because of that the last to seemed to be a bit forced and too fastly paced (which is kind of ironic since the begin felt slow).
Also since 9 and 10 are so fast paced it feels like the ending is pretty abrupt. I get that with Iasiah it's made to make you question if he's alive and well or if using the spell has done something else more sinister but it also just made so many loose ends, all of which were because of the last 2 episodes! Kinda feel like it should have ended at 8 or at least have slappy get his body back at the end of 8 and cut out a lot of what 9 was.
