The Wailing
It was good. There is a lot to dig into with this movie. Event though I've thoroughly analyzed this, I'm not too sure how to feel about the xenophobia amongst the characters and how the plot played out. I like how Korean horror always attacks the fear of being "separated". A lot of films play on domestic horror, of some "othering" force that breaks apart the family. In this film, it is the main character's family and on a greater scale--the town.
However, the bigotry against the Japanese man isn't turned on itself but is "confirmed" at the end. Unsure how I feel about this. The acting was so good and the ritual scene with the shaman was disorienting in the best way possible.
