Cold Fish

I love this movie now and now I will promptly check out the rest of Sono's Directography because holy shit this is right up my alley I can't belive I haven't seen it already. I have so much to say, I love the mix of all the really brutal violence with the mundane setting. That tropical music in the fish shop is just a great vibe, the whole fish shop setting is i loved how cold it looked it was really visually pleasing to me, the muted colour palette made any and all blood stick out so well but not too bright like some movies do. I love to watch a character go from a normal, perhaps below average person to a raging maniac intended to shock you at how far he crosses the line. This film is evidently packed with themes and metaphors for the viewer to decipher, violence is only fun when it is both gratuitous AND educational. I cant stop loving the controversial work of controversial directors though apparently...
