Onibaba
The devastating effects of the war on Japan and clearly visible in this movie, where the main characters are forced to hunt on other people for a living. The drama which is carried for the whole film is just a mask (which could itself be a reference in the movie) for a load of other much more deep concepts illustrated in the movie, such as lust and its own concept of right or wrong, female indipendence, morality and many others that can be found in the movie just by analyzing it fully. The movie may seem boring at the start, however its pace, remaining almost always calm and slow, it’s still capable of capturing your attention for the whole time.
