so apparently all of my mutuals in here seem to hate this film, what's that all about?? But in a serious note, I found this film to be outstanding. It is one of the best edited films I've ever seen in my whole life, with a premise so interesting and wild that had me hooked all throughout, also thanks to the fucking sick camera work and lighting direction in here. Every single piece of the story moves at such a pace and with a flow so precise that made everything so consistently amazing imo. How each performance manages to bring forward every character with such grace is really incredible. I don't see almost anything here going against it... except that it might have benefited from a little more thematic weight, you know, daring to explore something more nuanced. Because sure, the exploration of social dynamics here is top-notch, but it's also quite basic for such an over-the-top concept. Nevertheless this is a very small and self-contained observation of what it could have been which is a kind of observation that I always complain about, so yeah, a very small thing. It was a very fun experience and I can't believe so many people don't like it.

girl, stop it, put that split diopter down, please.

This was so fun and a surprisingly good-feel watch. Tbh I did find the use of back and forth storytelling with the memories to be a bit disappointing, very often feeling like it messed with the engaging pacing of the space part which was the actually interesting stuff. The film also seems to have a fear of going darker with its subjects, like whenever it goes there, it immediately backs out right after, and sure, it is enjoyable, the ending is very sweet and I love that I could show this one to my little sister, but I also wish it could stick to its more tragic side it often pretends to go towards. In summary, very enjoyable film but I feel like it could have been so much more.
