"I've seen horrors. Horrors that you have seen. But you have no right to call me a murderer, you have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that. But you have no right to judge me." one of my favorite tropes in any form of media is characters who push the narrative of a story without even being physically present. colonel walter kurtz gets essentially about 30 minutes of screen time and within this timespan he ranks very high among this trope of characters i love. the sheer presence he possesses the moment he is first seen on screen is so captivating and terrifying i was actually stunned. the coloring in this is also pretty damn good and the sound design was actually phenomenal especially for a film of this time. this is really an all timer.

“and what do you plan to do if this whole dream of yours doesn’t work out? that doesn’t even enter my consciousness.” first thing that comes to my head after this viewing experience, which by the way it’s echoing all throughout my head. the phrase “by any means necessary.” at all cost no matter what, marty will prove himself right. the whole world could tell marty “you can’t do this” and he would reply with “watch me.” the amount of unwavering drive and passion marty has as a character is so compelling. he’s quite frankly a dick, a narcissistic cunt. yet i want him to succeed more than anything in the world. many times during the viewing i felt anxiety through my core cause i didn’t want the plans marty had to fail. this film ends perfectly for me and there’s not a thing about this i would change. give timothee his oscar.

a timeless piece of gaming history.
