“We’re all just stories in the end, just make it a good one.” - Doctor Who (Series 5: Episode 13 - ‘The Big Bang’)

I don’t remember this episode of Doctor Who The very first Carry On Movie, isn’t the strongest, the funniest or the most memorable, but it’s still wonderfully entertaining, and a lovely throwback to when the Carry On movies were more low budget Ealing Comedies and less bawdy, innuendo laden, sex obsessed romps. Hartnell is wonderful as Sgt Grimshaw and it’s clear to see why he was type cast as Sgts throughout his career prior to Who because he plays the role with such conviction! Not the most memorable of supporting characters other than Kenneth Conner as a hypochondriac with everything and nothing wrong with him, one of Kenneth Williams better roles which sees him have a really sweet moment with Norman Rossington. Leading man Bob Monkhouse is fun but kinda blank slate of a character as his motivation for the first act is just to have marital time with his wife.
