Squid Game
It would be 4 but the last episode let me down so- big time. It was such an epically creative and beautifully acted show that It was hard to not be engrossed after the first episode. But I was frustrated they weren't building to a bigger point than they had made in the first one. Instead, the message became just a heavy-handed one that had so cleverly been made at the start of the second. If it had been a miniseries it may have been perfect. The acting alone makes it worth watching as does the effectiveness of it truly getting under your skin. I'm rarely as genuinely disturbed as I was watching this show which is part of its cleverness. There are underlying great points to be made with Ali and Kang's backstories I just would have loved further exploration on that. Worth the watch but perhaps not the trauma of episode 6. A clever creative and addictive show that makes me look forward to the future of film and fear the future of the world.
