Love Streams

This is a perfect movie and I think it’s a really good starting place for people to get into Cassavetes. It has the classic Cassavetes tension but is broken quite quickly with humour. And it’s so explicitly about love, which is the only thing John cares about.  The first time I met my best friend I was borrowing Love Streams (and Salo) from him while on a weekend trip to Sydney. It’s funny to think about that now considering how much our friendship in my first year living in Sydney mirrored the relationship between Sarah and Robert in this movie. I love this movie so much and I love my best friend, Joe. Thank you for bringing in the 2 miniature horses and the goat during the storm.
