Is there a greater horror than living without a shred of authenticity and the inevitable psychological damage that’s guaranteed to follow? Probably only rivaled by the suburbs, the rigid environment that often catalyzes this choice. I enjoyed this a lot. It’s not perfect by any means, but it captured the creepypasta atmosphere really well and created such a specific brand of dread. Haunting but also genuinely devastating. I listened to this soundtrack often for a full year and a half before watching this, btw, and I love it so much. And I also like Phoebe Bridgers! I feel like they were going for a *Twin Peaks* season 3 Roadhouse vibe with her performance, but unfortunately, it was much more akin to Elliott from the *Euphoria* season 2 finale monopolizing 5 minutes of precious screen time.

Pure catharsis. Gregg Araki is absolutely brilliant, and I wouldn’t kick off my Pride month movie plans any other way. Tenderness and anger and grief. Vulnerability. Accepting your impending death and choosing to live to the fullest anyway. It utterly wrecked me. *Dedicated to Craig Lee (1954-1991) and the hundreds of thousands who’ve died and the hundreds of thousands more who will die because of a big white house full of republican fuckheads. *
