***I got a pocket got a pocketful of sunshine!*** I loved that scene so much, I need one of those cards now. Olive singing and having that song stuck in her mind is literally me when I find a new song to obsess over, and leave it on repeat This was a really fun, yet meaningful watch. I honestly loved this film, the cast, the acting, and how it takes on very comical, yet we also see various serious scenes and ideas shown. Emma Stone. I could genuinely go on and on about her, her acting is so incredible, and whenever she steps into character she really becomes them. She plays Olive perfectly, we see her personality and the person that she is, her expression are so good and we really get a feel of her characters in each of her films. Olive starts turns into the person she never wanted to be just because of false rumours. This film really shows how fast rumours spread and how fast lies start to pile up. Everything starts off with a rumour that Olive’s friend Rhiannon spread, that she slept with someone, but he wasn’t really, she’d just makes him up to avoid going camping with her weird family. Olive quickly becomes consumed by these lies and rumours that she takes on this persona of someone she isn’t. She becomes known as a slut, a whore, that she’s basically slept with half the school, which all started because of a singular rumour. All these rumours have been spread about her, yet she doesn’t deny them, and she wonders is that’s wrong, maybe she had wanted this attention that she’d never gotten before, that she’d wanted to be seen, but this was the wrong way. Tons of people tart to hate her for what she never really did, and she starts to hate herself too. I also love how th film is sort of narrated, at parts with Olive’s webcast, each new part is another part of the story (with really long titles). It is told through her podcast, in which she unfold how far her lies went, and admits the consequences to her actions. She realized that it wasn’t right, to lie to all these people, even though some of those lies were to help people, like Brandon, who just didn’t want to get bullied anymore, and others, What really hurt me is that Olive started to believe these rumours, and though that even she knew they weren’t true, because of how much was constantly going around, she started to believe them. The first date she thought she’d finally gotten turned out to be just for sex, Anson thought she’d pay her to sleep with him, and when he started to kiss her and she refused, he began to throw himself at her. Olive becomes solely known as this person she really isn’t, and that her own best friend was no longer by her side. Rhiannon was never a good friend in my opinion, she’d never really treated Olive well, and she always sought out more attention, and just really wanted that. Though I do have to say, I was absolutely obsessed with her wardrobe, especially her tops, I need her entire closet. One person who’d always be there for her, and was there when she needed someone was Todd, the boy who’d she wanted to kiss since 8th grade. Despite all those years, he’d still remember how’d she’d been his “fake” kiss, it was the first lie she ever told, before the whole spiral downfall. She becomes known for her horrible reputation, and completely loses herself I’m these lies, but she eventually knows they have to stop. The scene with the unexpected musical sequence was an absolute blast, and unexpected way to get people to see her confession of her lies unfold. The soundtrack was also perfection, the mix of the different genres and sounds, I loved it. The end scene was so funny and beautiful, Todd and Olive riding out on the lawnmower, unexpected but really shows how love isn’t perfect, it has so many ways of showing itself. Overall, the message of this films is to shoe people how fast lies spread like wildfire, and the struggle to fit in, especially in high school. It also brings forth the idea that a women’s choices are nobody business, and it really shows many themes and conflict that exist in high school and throughout your teen years. I loved this movie, it’s really fun and light-hearted but also has a great message for the audience. ***“Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80’s movies” ***

***Nomad and Princeton Girl*** The brightly green coloured grass compared to the brown dry grass of the other houses actually killed me at the start, it was so random. Fiona’s voice actually kills me, it’s so pitchy and annoying, and Jennifer Coolidge was perfect for the role. Ugh I wish high school was actually like this, now everyone dresses the same, and there’s such a lack of colour. Like before everyone had different groups and styles, everyone had their own personality and weren’t afraid to be themselves. The old flip phones too, petition to bring them back, I’d be so happy. Typical plot of a Cinderella movie, but instead of leaving dropping glass shoe, she drops her cell phone, but still I thought it was super cute. Ugh imagine having a guy print thousands of posters about you trying to find out who you are, I wish, bring back these men. Holy yum, Austin is so fine. Sam and Austin talking to each other and not knowing who they are is so invisible string theory, they’d walked past each other and seen each other so many times, and yet they never new it was them who’d they’d been talking to anonymously. They’d know about each other throughout school, yet they’d never spoken a word to each other, and with these text messages is how they were brought together. I absolutely hated Fiona for not telling Sam she got into Princeton, the one thing she’d looked forward to and dreamed about was lied about. On top of this she literally got made fun on in front of the entire school by the bitch, Shelby, like how can you genuinely call her a loser and say “*people like her don’t belong in the world*”, just because she didn’t grow up with all the money and the world and actually had to work for it, and not just get it handed to her. I hate how Austin had no freedom whatsoever, his life was simply already planned, and his father had already had his life planned, from football, to his future university, Austin never had the freedom to do what he wanted to do, it was always already planned out and forced to him. *“**but I can't wait for him; because waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought, useless, and disappointing” *** This line really shows his much more confident Sam has become over the course of the movie, she knows who she is, and she’s not afraid to be herself, instead she feel bad for Austin, because he’s constantly pretending to be someone else, and deep down the guy sending those emails is there. Sam waiting for Austin is useless, because he’s just like the typical guy who pretends to be somebody’s he’s not, he’ll just continue to disappoint you because he can’t be seen with Sam, because they are of “different groups”, just because they grew up differently and have different lifestyles. But after this is said, we see how Austin feels, he doesn’t wanna be handed out his life, he wants to chase what he wants, and wishes for, not what his dad wants. “*No dad, I’m throwing away yours”. *Austin finally breaks this cycle of being told what to do, he kisses Sam, and chases his dreams, not his dad. The rain finally came, after the drought, which is really symbolic to the whole film. Oh to experience a kiss in the rain. I loved the end as Fiona finally gets the karma she deserved, all along everything belonged to Sam, and she sees this in the will she found in the fairytale book, that was really special to her and her dad as a kid. Fiona starts working at the diner, and she gets to feel the way Sam felt all those years, working while she wasn’t. Both Sam and Austin are able to go to Princeton, and they live happily ever after!
