There are some good foundations being laid in this first episode. Acting was good across the board, nothing incredible but good. Looking forward to seeing what plays out eventually

So for some context I have never seen Game of Thrones nor have I seen House of the Dragon but I had heard good things about A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Over the last couple of days I decided to sit down and watch this show and I am so glad I did. The show is such a treat. It's a treat both visually and in storytelling. Although there aren't many filming locations for this show, it doesn't matter. Every episode felt unique but also purposeful. All the characters are fantastic. There are some characters that I hope we see return in the next season. I get a weird sense of comfort while I was watching this show, despite there being blood and gore. It still felt homely. I'm looking forward to watching the next season and it actually makes me want to read the book called The Hedge Knight, which, of course, this show is based on. There are some good twists and turns that I didn't see coming and I kind of feel as though the show will act as an anthology. With that in my own mind, it genuinely felt exciting to watch these episodes, not actually knowing what's going to happen. That anticipation was a good feeling because some shows these days become predictable. Although there are some things that you can make assumptions on, there are others that you can't quite assume.
