Superman
The biggest problem with this movie is whether I want to give it a 4.5/5 or a 5/5. This movie is so full of heart and whimsy and everything I’ve wanted out of a Superman movie for years. I’ve known since 2018 that David Corenswet would make an amazing Superman, and boy was I right. There are multiple standout performances and characters in this movie, especially Hoult as Lex Luthor, but I could write a whole other review about that. The action in this movie is top notch. The way the camera moved and flowed was spectacular. The showcasing of each character’s powers was awesome. As a comic book movie, it really nails it. I didn’t find the “stuffiness” of the plot too distracting as some others have (I kinda wanted more), but there are still some minor flaws. Unfortunately there are some side plots/moments and wonky cgi that I wasn’t as fond of, but that doesn’t really change how much I loved watching this movie. It’s a fantastic live action start to the DCU and I’m so excited for what’s next. I’m also excited to watch this at least ten more times.
