Sing Sing

We here to become human again, to put on nice clothes and dance around and enjoy the things that is not in our reality. Art is an escape, a phrase that has never meant more than in regard to this film. For a lot of these inmates, performing arts is a distraction from the pain of the situation they’re in, but for people like Divine Eye, it’s quite literally an escape, a way out of the path he has felt stuck on. This is such an emotional powerhouse of a film, and Colman Domingo will continue to be a major player for a long time.
