Poor Things
can yorgos direct my life?
poor things is a very... weird film. it's a movie about a woman who experiences freedom into the world after all her time alive.
first off, i wanna say that emma stone literally hit the target with this one. her acting was beyond my expectations and the level of understanding i have for acting. she was able to captivate bella's character very well, and succeeded in making me believe she might actually be unhinged. she definitely earned her way towards that best actress oscar, and it's no surprise since she's also won it before a few years back. emma's on a generational run, and she will always be a huge face for cinema today, and for the future. emma stone, the world loves you.
yorgos is a directoral genius, and a dangerous man. he's dangerous because his movies are so good you could possibly get addicted, and it's no joke. he really helped shape cinema with his films even if he hasn't had a huge impact, and this is a historical man and i will stand by it. he really knows what he is doing because this really is what every movie should look like.
give tony mcnamara global praise because this is such a creative and unique movie. i honestly don't think i've seen anything remotely similar to something so unhinged and bold. he also knows how to make a hilarious character because bella was one of a kind. tony has a very open mind and i'm excited to hopefully see more of his work later on.
special effects on this movie was very interesting. it was definitely well done, and there were so many unrealistic details that they were able to make look real. this movie shifted very quickly between one weird thing and another, so the skill was surely impressive for me at least.
i would recommend poor things to someone who enjoys comedies, out-of-pocket surprises, and a film that is actually just super random until you connect all of the dots. i love poor things so much, and i hope everyone else will too
