Scream 4
scream 4 is a phenomenal masterpiece, and wes craven's best and unfortunately final work. wes craven himself shaped the horror genre into a new type of thrilling, and beautiful tactic of film. wes craven films every angle, every scene, and every moment like it's a historical gem for the world. he is the director who created the slasher genre, alongside some other amazing people.
emma roberts is a legendary actress and this is one of her many roles which are evidence for it. the talent that woman has is something that not many other actresses and actors are able to achieve, so since this was one of her breakthrough roles, it shows that she was meant to be in the scream franchise.
scream 4's a bloody type of aesthetic and color grading; it's dark and gut-filled. almost every single second of this film is filled with screaming, chasing, stabbing, and gruel dialogue.
the thing that mainly took it away for me was scream 4's act 3, and the cherry on top was an act 4. every single masked-killer horror movie usually ends after act 3, but scream 4 didn't. it went past the point where all of the cops and news vans are surrounding the place where the 3rd act went down - it went to where everyone's either dead or hospitalized, but the massacre continues. the concept of an act 4 was a perfect idea, and i'm super satisfied it was used to its full potential.
i would recommend this terrifying beauty to anyone who enjoys mysteries, horror, and slasher films. in my opinion, scream 4 is the best one out of all 6 films so far, and it'll probably stay that way due to everything going on with scream 7.
