Wicked
YOU CAN BE ANYTHING.
to absolutely ANYONE, ANYONE that i said wicked was bad to, i apologize. the first time i watched wicked, i was tired from the night before because i pulled an all nighter with my cousins and got only 2 hours of sleep, so i fell asleep during the part where they're getting om the train to see the wizard.
anyways, wicked's actually a masterpiece. it delivers the full on experience of a musical, but one where you aren't dreading for it to end. wicked's emotional accuracy is spectacular, and the acting is gob-smacking.
i usually HATE musicals, but wicked was so good. it has the perfect balance of dialogue and music, which actually makes it visually & audibly satisfactory.
the plot of wicked must've actually been written by a mastermind and genius because it's so creative. it spends an hour and 45 minutes going through elphaba's struggles to being different, and how things with her & glinda/galinda go down, and also madam morrible teaching and learning elphaba's powers. then the rest of the movie actually focuses on them going to the wizard of oz.
the acting was genuinely so perfect i couldn't believe it. cynthia really put her all into this, and so did arianna. i love arianna's music so much, and it's so fantastic as to how she can also act just as good. cynthia really did master elphaba, because i actually believed she was an outcast rather than just a rich person acting, and same goes for arianna. michelle, jonathan, and ethan's acting was also so great as well. i loved their screentime almost as much as cynthia's and arianna's.
the set, costumes, and makeup were also sooo appealing to my eyes. the set was honestly so magical and bright, it really did feel like a fairytale. the costumes were so fancy and detailed to the point that i couldn't even imagine how they were crafted, both ideally and physically. the makeup was so spot on as well, and everyone who contributed to these deserve every award possible.
wicked is a must-watch for everyone, and i can't wait to watch wicked: for good.
